Welke to Sponsor Trade Forum with Guelph Chamber - May 19
Welke Customs Brokers Ltd. has signed on to sponsor the Guelph Chamber's May 19 Global Leadership Forum: "Building a Winning Trade Strategy" at Cutten Fields in Guelph. The focus of the Forum will be how companies and institutions can leverage regional strengths to significantly expand trade - in both goods and services - around the world.
The event features a presentation by keynote speaker Ian Hamilton, president and CEO of the Hamilton Port Authority, followed by an expert panel discussion on trade strategy in Canada's "Innovation Corridor." Nicholas Brenie, sales manager for Welke, will moderate the panel discussion, which will be designed to give attendees:
- Practical knowledge on how to navigate export opportunities
- First hand examples of ways in which companies can engage in international trade
- Expertise on the changing global trade landscape and how to effectively navigate this landscape
- Understanding of how support programs and existing government initiatives can be leveraged
"How our region competes in a global economy that is continuously changing is an important and timely conversation for us to be having," said Brenda Davison, Welke vice president of operations. "Welke is pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of that discussion, and we appreciate the Guelph Chamber's leadership in taking it on. We're looking forward to a great event."
Those interested in attending can register for the event, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, May 19, at http://www.guelphchamber.com/attend/event_calendar.
